New Accommodation

I've had some inspiration. How about a picture tour of our accommodation with Mercy Vision in South Africa?

The picture might be a tiny bit misleading, but you get the point - not very wide!
To the left is the mobile unit divided into two accommodations - one for Sandra, the nurse, and one for Mohau, the optometrist. To the right is the mobile unit divided into two rooms - the OR and the pre-op room/future team office. (Currently the pre-op room is full. Lots of things got wet in the storage room during the big rain storm two weekends ago and is still in the process of being put back now that it is safe to do so. Until then, the office area cannot be set up.)

 View from our front door.

The "pantry" which also serves as kitchen workspace.

The clothes cupboard/dresser which also serves as kitchen workspace. The windows above it lead directly into the pre-op room and are there in order for the A/C to be able to cool our room as well. We've covered them for privacy, but since they open from the other side, we have to trust others to ensure that privacy.

We're sitting on a multi-purpose piece of furniture: the bed, the couch, the dining room table, etc. As you can see, we can reach the fridge (right-hand corner of picture) from the bed. BUT the cups are stored in the other half of the kitchen. :)
Didn't realize til now that I didn't get a full picture of the corner - we have a nice-sized fridge with a pretty big freezer. Since we're in a rural area, the freezer space is a necessity. The microwave is on top of the fridge.

View from the bedroom/kitchen door to the rest of the kitchen :)
Not pictured is the team's storage room directly to the left. The door to the right leads to the pre-op room and the bathroom.

It's a tight squeeze. All dishes must be washed, dried, and put away as they're used to make space for the next meal or project. The washing machine is for use by Sandra and Mohau as well as us.

The bathroom is in the pre-op room which attaches through the kitchen door.

The window was moved from above the toilet since where it used to be is now directly above the washing machine in the kitchen area. On surgery days, this bathroom will be used by the rest of the team and patients as well.

Well, there it is! :) Please pray for us as we continue to adjust to living here!

Day 615 - The Solution

Ok, it's time to face the truth:

I'M A TERRIBLE BLOGGER.

Now that I've admitted my problem, I can introduce a grand idea. You see, my husband is awesome at blogging; I can just send you his way!! Since we're married, I don't think we both need to blog anyway, right? :)

My inspiration to blog does come sometimes, but obviously not very often. So... when I do have an inspiration and an urge to write, you  may see a link on Murray's blog sending you back this way.

Until then, mercyshipadventure.blogspot.com shall keep you updated! :)
